]]> Buzznet twisssssted 2009-09-10T04:11:00Z <![CDATA["Diabetic Heaven"]]> http://twisssssted.buzznet.com/user/journal/4495701/ So, last night- I accidentally gave my daughter the wrong insulin- I gave her 42 units of Humalog (the kind she takes for her carbs she consumes (she takes 1 unit for every 15 carbs... do the math.. scary!!))..instead of her nighttime Lantus..luckily... her doctor was on call--we had to try and get almost 300 carbs down her--talk about 'diabetic heaven' for her--ice cream and several Monsters later..we got it done!

Its a good thing I noticed what I had done before she went to bed--she would of dropped SO fast and probably gone into a diabetic coma before I would of ever known. :-(

Talk about feeling like a failure--we have been doing this since she was 3.. this has never happened. I was really worried!!.. and felt just awful especially in the middle of the night when all that sugar hit her.. it didn't stay down long. :-(
